AI Prep Starts With Preparing the Staff
To get ready for the change AI will bring to restaurant operations, it’s a great idea to start with the staff. Most respondents have already begun educating or upskilling their workforces, so they’re prepared to use AI. This is also a good time to start recruiting talent for their AI skills or experience and task staff to research ways they might use AI in their businesses. (See Chart 10.)
Restaurants’ pursuit of AI is not about any business pressure they may feel. Most respondents are driven by some specific goals they have set for their business. Other big motivators are personalizing the customer experience (65%) and using AI to discover opportunities to make their operations more efficient (35%). (See Chart 11.)
