Recruitment: Building Your Dream Team
Who are you looking for and what can you offer them?
To write a great job description, you need to be two things: clear and compelling.
Being clear is all about ensuring candidates can quickly understand the role and if it’s right for them. Make the job title specific, and back it up with a strong summary of the responsibilities and required skills. Provide key information, including the salary range, location and working hours.
Then think about how to make it compelling – what sets you apart? Showcase the culture you’ve created and highlight the benefits and opportunities for growth you offer.
To advertise a vacancy, start by working with what you’ve got.
Put up posts on your socials and posters in your restaurant window. Ask existing employees to spread the word. You could even provide an incentive, offering a referral bonus if they recommend a successful candidate.
Next, create a job listing on LinkedIn and industry-specific job boards, such as Restaurant Jobs UK or The Caterer. For entry-level positions, your local culinary school should be a great source of fresh new talent.
