Interviewing Candidates
The better you plan your interviews, the better your chances of hiring the right person for the role.
Having a structured interview process will help you objectively evaluate candidates against the criteria that matter most to you. It’s important to check that candidates have the hard and soft skills for the role and that they’re a good cultural fit. To do this, prepare a set list of questions and conduct skills assessments through practical tasks and role-playing scenarios.
Don’t forget to run background checks, including a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, which flags any criminal convictions or other police-related work limitations, and right-to-work checks, as well as references from previous employers.
